‘Holmwood’ is found within a Joint War Committee 1921 list as having been an Auxiliary Home Hospital.   However, no-one has been discovered as having worked there i.e. no volunteer has been found within the British Red Cross search facility nor any reference found in local newspapers.

‘Holmwood House’ was opened as a boys’ preparatory school in 1922, by Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Duggan.   Today, the private school caters for more than 400 boys and girls, up to the age of 13 – starting with a Nursery entry age of 6 months.
